![C&C Generals Evolution : Tiny Update]()
Despite apparent lack of updates, progress on Generals: Evolution is still being made.GenEvo is currently at a very boring stage of optimizations and cleanup, so there's not much to show off or talk about.We're very passionate about bringing GenEvo RC2 to a polished and "fun to play" state, we're also jamming as much content in it as possible, in a hope for it to always feel fresh and replayable.It takes us very long time, since some assets need to be remade from scratch to fit into engine limitations.We apologize for keeping a low profile and we hope to redeem our silence in 2020.
I know you're all upset that my HL2 projects seemingly get more attention, there's 2 reasons for that :
1) My current jobs are entirely Source Engine based and my work setup makes it extremely easy to do anything Source Engine related.
2) I'm not working alone on my HL2 mod, I have few people working with me, few helping and engine overall is much more accessible and easier to work with. ( while GenEvo is a 2 man project )
3) The demand for was extremely high, yet release quality was lacking, so I had to patch it several times. I couldn't let people down, but at big cost. I am sorry for that.
Despite that, GenEvo never ceased to be worked on, it's just I'm still working on a boring part of making everything work correctly. GenEvo is a victim of its own file size, we're hitting 32bit limits and some game assets just unload from the game randomly, it also causes severe instability. We're in a process of combating this, but it takes time to re-do some of the assets, cut unnecessary things and remake majority of maps.
GenEvo will also be an open source project, while I'm working on its code, I'm documenting it and structuring it in a way people will understand.
All I'm asking from you is to have a bit more patience, I won't be touching anything else ( besides work ) until we're done with releasing some version of RC2. Don't loose hope, I am very slow, but wait will be worth it
